Go figure in those days that the beer can opener, “Church Key”, would become a relic of the past and be replaced by the pop top. I’m not sure Schmitz beer is even around any longer but their advertising slogan was, “When you’re out of Schlitz you’re out of beer”.
Many of the regional or local brewers have been bought out by the big conglomerates. Even one of my favorites, “Sam Adams” is owned by a big brewer. Sam Adams was a local Boston Beer during the time I travelled to Salem New Hampshire in the early 1990’s. Now craft breweries are everywhere and great local beers are terrific.
