When I was visiting Dallas as a teenager I saw Trini’s younger brother Jesse play at a local club. They played many of the same songs and had a similar band. I don’t think they were twins, but their acts were. Besides this number I remember Jesse singing La Bamba another favorite.
I felt bad doing it, but curiosity got the better of me… So many of his generation are gone, but Trinidad Lopez is still alive. He (and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright) will be 82 on May 15. Here’s to longevity!
