“Spring is a powerful spell. The blue. The clouds high up and puffy. The air warmer than it’s been for weeks.”

I have no flowers yet. Yesterday was a bust. I didn’t even leave the house except to walk Gracie to the back gate a few times during the day and into the night. I just had no ambition. Some days I’m like that.

Today is sunny and warm, but there is a possibility of showers. It is in the mid 60’s now and may get as low as 51˚, normal spring time weather for New England. I’m happy with showers. They tend to come quickly and leave as quickly. Rain stays around.

All the rain has made for a lush, green world. My lawn has new grass in spots, Gracie squat spots. The rest of the lawn is filling in nicely, and every day new blooms open in the garden. I noticed some of the flowers have seeded themselves and are blooming in new spots. The irises have buds, large purple buds close to blooming. Every day a different delight in the garden catches my eye.

While I’ve been writing this, the sun has disappeared. Clouds have covered it, and I’m not so sure it will be back. The chance of showers is closer to a certainty.

The longer days confuse me. I’m surprised when I check the clock and find out it is still early afternoon but therein lies a problem. I’m a bit confused as to when early afternoon ends and late afternoon begins. I’m leaning toward 4 o’clock.

I’m having hot dogs for dinner tonight, but I’m skipping the beans and brown bread. I never did eat the beans, and I can’t remember when last I ate brown bread. Regardless, though, I’m still calling tonight’s supper a Saturday tradition.

    Hi Kat,
I’m having a no-ambition/no-energy day today no doubt to make up for the almost productive day yesterday. The back lawn needs mowing. There is the rest of the laundry and there are too many dishes in the sink. Am I attending to these chores? No. I am goofing off on various electronic devices.

There are also no flowers in my yard. Well, there are weed flowers and those are fine. There are a few columbines. The peonies are hanging fire on the edge of blooming. Even the dandelions are reluctant. And a small, freshly-minted bunny ate all the new growth off Little Quincey. Again. If this tiny thing ever becomes a real bush, it’ll be through sheer contrariness of phloem or whatever it is that plants have.

It’s totally cloud-covered up here as well. No rain is predicted as far as I’ve heard. Tomorrow, maybe.

    Enjoy the day.

      Caryn,
I still haven’t done much today though I did wash all the animal’s
dishes. Gracie had chicken, carrots and peas. She managed to leave all the peas in her dish, and there was a bunch of them.

I do have to go to Agway as Gracie ate her last can today.

I was surprised at how many flowers had reseeded, but there is still some spaces in the garden by the road. I also have some columbines and others I don’t know by name. The fence is covered in green with buds which will turn white this summer.

The forecast was for a shower down here and dry up where you are. It is getting darker.

I am going to take a nap. B the time I wake up, Agway will be less busy so I can find a parking space.

      Have a wonderful day.

Unfortunately, my internet, cable TV and phone service died. Luckily I can tether to my cell service through my iPhone so I’m not completely disconnected. What did we do before we had computers and the Internet? We read books and played games or listened to records.

Today is cooler because we had torrential rains yesterday afternoon. I was stuck in traffic for 45 minutes because an underpass was flooded. More rain forecast for today and tomorrow. We had a record dry May and now maybe a record wet June. 🙂

      Bob,
I actually read all day yesterday and finished the book I was reading. It was a wonderfully quiet day.

I do love having the internet for looking up stuff I could only find in the library or the encyclopedia. No TV? That’s barbaric.

We had a record wet May and June seems to be starting the same way. It is usually August which is our dry month.

Rain yesterday and rain today. No heavy showers just nice summer rain but it tends to keep on raining for hours. Well, at least I can’t mow the lawn today 🙂

I watched Rouge One yesterday and I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I didn’t like the beginning but it became better the longer I saw it and I did like the end. Today I’ll watch Fantastic beasts and where to find them 🙂 I guess we’ll have no more walks, Albin walks to the both doors and refuse to go outside when he sees the rain 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

      Christer,
It is close to raining right now even though the morning was warm and sunny. We have had a lot of rain lately. Last night it was a light rain but the other day it poured.

I liked Rogue One, but I really didn’t have huge expectations so I wasn’t disappointed.

Sometimes Gracie refuses to go out. She backs up away from the door when it is heavily raining. I have to take her so I’m actually glad she won’t go.

      Enjoy your evening!
