“I love California; I practically grew up in Phoenix.”

The lateness of the hour is due to a visit to the vets for Miss Gracie. She is still having night problems, but the main reason was blood on the puppy pad. The good news was also the bad news. Gracie had blood tests and a urine test. The vet said she hadn’t ever seen an old boxer this healthy. There was no infection, no kidney issues, no diabetes and no to everything else. The vet said we might assume a urine infection because Gracie drinks so much water that finding an infection is difficult. Gracie now has more pills to take.

Last night it poured. I could hear the rain pounding the roof as I fell asleep. It had rained on and off all day, but it wasn’t such a heavy rain as I didn’t get all that wet walking Gracie to the backyard. Today the sun was out for about a half hour before the day got cloudy, damp and cold. The sun is supposed to return, but I am a doubter.

I’m thinking today is a nap day. I slept fitfully last night so I’m tired. Besides, the cold and damp make it an afghan day, a day to get cozy, warm and comfy. Gracie already is.

A grilled cheese sandwich is on tonight’s menu. If I had tomato soup, that would be too. I’m trying out a new kitchen helper, a sleeve of sorts which cooks grilled cheese in the toaster. I’m a bit skeptical.

I find myself addicted to MSNBC and Netflix. I just finished the documentary series of The Keepers and a remake of Anne of Green Gables called Anne with an E on Netflix. The Keepers was a one day binge. Yesterday on MSNBC, I was surprised to learn from Mr. Trump that Israel is not in the Middle East. All this time I was thinking it was. Mr. Trump also taught me to curtsy if given a large gold chain by Saudi royalty. Now it is on to Rome and my next lesson whatever it might be.

You might want to take a look at that third paragraph.

If you check up on the organization and territorial makeup of many international groups, you will find that Israel is not in the Middle East. For example, the country was officially a member of the Asian Football Confederation, but was often refused games with other group members. In 1974, Kuwait engineered a a proposal which kicked Israel out of the Confederation. In 1994, it was decided that Israel was more properly part of Europe.
Many UN organizations have similar policies.

I can’t believe Trump was correct. He generally makes some sort of gaffe when he speaks away from his text.

It seems that geographically it is in the Middle East but not politically.

    • Bob Says:

Hopefully you are kidding. Israel is and has been in the Middle East since biblical days. Besides they eat middle eastern food like falafel.

      • katry Says:

I do know Israel is in the Middle East.

I didn’t realize that they too ate Middle Eastern food. Actually, I hadn’t any idea what they eat in Israel.

We’ve already learned that ‘Belgium is a beautiful city’, can we still hope that he doesn’t find the Nato summit in Brussels tomorrow?

Trump meets the pope, Manchester last night, a world on fire and our beloved crooner Bob Dylan will be 76 tomorrow.

Maybe he won’t spend much time there. He was already exhausted after two days of travel.

Thanks for mentioning Dylan’s birthday so I can post his music.

The guy who did this video did a wonderful job.

We received more rain last night and today. It’s May in Texas so the rain will be missed in August when it hasn’t rained or been below 85 degree since Independence Day. Tomorrow warmer temperatures are expected to return with highs approaching ninety.

I love grilled cheese with tomato soup. These days I’ve taken a like to tomato basil soup but I still crave American cheese between white bread. Somehow, Swiss cheese or whole wheat bread spoils the taste. A little ham is nice for variety. I think the version with ham is called a crouqe mister in French and the plain version is called a crouqe madam.

I think American cheese melts the best for grilled cheese. Some bread doesn’t lend itself to grilled cheese.

We are expecting rain for the next 2 days.

Spring comes late to the cape, and the nights are still chilly. Today never became a nice day.

I am intrigued by your toaster sandwich device. Please report back.

I will need to shop a bit as it is grocery time. I haven’t even bread or cheese. I will report back!

Just passing this along because I found the synergy interesting. You wrote about California yesterday and, shortly after reading your post, Radio Paradise (great internet station I heartily recommend BTW) played this song. Great timing. At any rate, I’d never heard the song before and really never given Mayall a second thought (I’m not fan of the blues, which is what — as best I can determine — Mayall is known for). But I really like this song and found it VERY laid-back 70s and maybe a perfect deck song for you. Very relaxing. Over nine minutes long, so you can almost grab a nap while you listen. 🙂 Chill, baby, chill.

Trump is after all an exceptionally smart person, he said so himself so it must be true 🙂 🙂 Like You I’ve always thought Israel was in the Middle East 🙂 That man is so full of wisdom and knowledge that I’m not surprised he was elected 🙂 🙂 🙂

Sunny and just enough warm so far and they still haven’t changed the predictions for the weekend that says much the same as it has been. Thye still have plenty of time to change it though 🙂

I’m glad that Gracie is so healthy! but it is annoying when there’s blood and they can’t find out why. I’m holding my thumbs that the pills will help!

    Have a great day!

Gracie is till wetting at night, but she just started antibiotics. I feel so bad for her as she hates wetting and even looks embarrassed. The problem is she drinks so much water that she pees every few hours. At least it isn’t raining today when I take her out.

Trump is as dumb as dirt.

Gracie wouldn’t eat her lunch today. It had peas in it which she hates. I just gave her a different can, chicken thigh stew, and she is eating it all. I’m glad for that.

      Have a wonderful evening!

  8. Caryn Says:

    Hi Kat,
I’m glad to read that Gracie is very healthy for a Great Dane of her years. I hope the antibiotics help the wetting problem.

Aren’t you the one who doesn’t like peas?
Rocky and Piki Dog will eat anything that falls on the floor. Except grapes. Grapes could be food but might be a toy. They aren’t sure so they leave them.

Yesterday was a do nothing day but I did put laundry into the dryer. It’s still in there. Maybe tomorrow. 🙂

    Enjoy the evening.

      Hi Caryn,
Gracie is actually a boxer but it holds true that she is quite healthy for an old boxer. They have a lifespan of 8-10 years, and my last two were both 8 when they died.

I love peas. It is beans I hate, all sorts of beans. Gracie is sometimes picky while she is a vacuum cleaner other times. She’ll pass up food hoping to do better, but when that doesn’t materialize, she’ll eat what she turned down.

I had a couple of errands to do and the critter control came to get rid of the mice. My laundry still sits by the cellar door-tomorrow I suppose.

      Have a wonderful evening!
