“The wisest are the most annoyed at the loss of time.”

2 days to go!

Yesterday I got some errands done and had game night with my friends. We also watched two awful science fiction movies. My house/pet sitter came by to learn what she needed to do. It will be easy as she has stayed here before, and her son and daughter-in-law have been cleaning my house for ten or eleven years. Today Fern’s visiting nurse comes by to learn what meds Fern has to have. She is actually a pet sitter, but I like to think of her as Fern’s personal home nurse.

Rain is definitely coming. The day is getting more humid. The breeze is intermittent but strong. I can hear the rustle of the leaves and the chiming of the bells every time it blows. It is a north wind.

I have to go to Stop and Shop today to pick up a few things. Before I go, I’ll have to remind myself to practice patience. People don’t take kindly to having their carts pushed out of the way even if they are parked in the middle. The slowest of all shoppers who walk down the middle of the aisle drive me to distraction, but I will curb my tongue and clench my jaw  and say nothing though every fiber of my being wants me to yell, “Move it.”

Suitcases are upstairs, a few shirts are folded and some toiletries are on the bureau. It looks like a trip is in the offing!

What movies did You watch? The worse the better 🙂 I looked at a fantasy movie on tv yesterday, called something with Dragon Ball and it was really bad 🙂 I guess the actors did what they could but when the makeup make them look just odd and the special effects are so so it didn’t help especially much 🙂 Even the jokes were bad in a bad way 🙂

WE had both sunshine and clouds here today but the humidity was low and it never became warmer than just below 68 so it was quite nice. No rain predicted the coming ten days but that can change already in the next update 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

      Christer,
We watched the H Man and The Night the World Exploded. In the second one they used a lot of real disaster shots like floods. The first was dubbed.

It got so humid today I turned the air on on the late afternoon. Rain is coming tomorrow so the humidity is a forewarning. I had to pick up a few things at the grocery store, and I got sweaty. I couldn’t wait until I got home and in the air.

Getting all your ducks in a row to go out of town is important and fun. I share your feelings about some folks lack of manners with shopping carts. The closest super market to our condo was built in the 1950’s and the isles are very narrow by comparison to the super markets today and some folks think they own the isle. 🙂

Here’s the site to track your flight. Delta flight 420 is the only trip they have to Ghana.

It’s not as long a trip as I thought. It’s about as long as DFW to São Paulo Brazil.

Warm and humid here while watching the Cowboys and the Redskins at halftime.

      Bob,

Not much left on my list, mostly just packing and doing laundry tomorrow. I got through the grocery store unscathed as I went at a slow time.

My e-ticket has a different length than the flight you found. It is listed as 10 hours, 23 minutes with about the same time going the other way.

      Disgustingly humid here as well.

      • Bob Says:

If you check that site it will show you the actual history of that flight. Your E-ticket uses the scheduled flight time. If you noticed the actual flight path deviated north of course as they crossed into Africa probably deviating to avoid severe weather. What’s the flight number of the return flight?

        Bob,
I don’t have the ticket here. It is upstairs in my carry-on. I will post the information tomorrow so you can follow my progress coming and going.

“Suitcases are upstairs” makes me worrying about your back, I hope you don’t have to carry them.
Sticky blog comment note 1: pain pills.
Sticky blog comment note 2: hug Gracie 🙂

      Birgit,
I have two kinds of pain pills, one from each doctor. My doctor gave me heavy duty; the other one did not.

I do have to carry them downstairs and then wheel them to the street. I figure my back will be in touch shape by the time I get to NY and the flight to Ghana.

I am hugging her to pieces!!

Did you pack the Croc Repellent ?

    • katry Says:

      My Dear Hedley,
It is safe in my carry-on. I just hope I have enough as there are several crocs in the sacred pond.

And now … deciding upon a destination, which should be beyond Boston … Minneapolis, perhaps …
