“Food is an important part of a balanced diet.”

I woke up to sun and now it is cloudy. The official report says a partly cloudy day with 78˚ as the high. Weather reports never seem optimistic. This is a half full, half empty sort of prediction. The optimist would say partly sunny.

It hasn’t rained much in a while. We had spitting rain one morning, but that’s about it. The cape, though, is not under a drought warning. Neither is the western part of the state, but the rest of the state is. I miss the summer rain.

I love onion rings, not the thick ones but the skinny ones with the light batter. Two seafood restaurants I really like serve them, and I always order a plate with onion rings. Lately I’ve ordered clams. Neither restaurant serves clams without the bellies. Those are for the tourists. The plates come heaped with clams, onion rings and French fries. I always eat the French fries last because sometimes I run out of room and would never want to leave a clam or an onion ring.

At a pub or a similar eatery, I usually order cheeseburgers covered with cheddar cheese. They usually come topped with lettuce and tomatoes with French fries on the side. I use mayonnaise on my French fries and my cheeseburger. I am not a big ketchup fan. I don’t know why but I consider ketchup on hot dogs and scrambled eggs as trevesties.

I have the TV on, unusual for me during the day. I’m finding most of the commercials are aimed at old people by age, not disposition. I have seen several about buying life insurance not dependent on physical condition or how old you are. A couple of commercials are touting the I’ve fallen and can’t get up alert button. The companies must figure only older people are home during the day.

I got all my errands finished yesterday. This morning I made my bed, and now I’m done.

  1. You would be seen as very odd if You didn’t want ketchup on hotdogs and fried eggs over here and especially if You want mayonnaise instead 🙂 🙂 and I’m not sure if I ever have heard of the combination clams and french fries before or onion rings for that matter 🙂 I really like how different the food culture is around the world!

I rarely buy hamburgers, I’m not sure why though because I do like it a lot and it is the same with pizza. Like it but rarely have it. Kebab is big over here though and that I have rather often. Must come with hot peppers though, can’t have kebab otherwise 🙂

No such commercials over here, ours are mostly about cleaning products like the H2O cleaner or some detergent. The louder the commercial is the worse the product is 🙂

Woke up t a chilly but suuny world, later the clouds arrived and I think I heard thunder for a while but it never reached us. Now the sun is shining again so if it hadn’t been for all the flies I would have been outside. There are at least a zillion flies out there and I had to wear the mosquito hat while mowing the lawn, very few biting ones though.

    Have a great day!

No mayonnaise on the eggs, just the French fries. You can order just clams or every other fried seafood by itself, but if you order a clam or shrimp or any other plate, it comes with fries and onion rings. You can also order fries or onion rings with nothing else.

I like kebabs and barbecue them in the summer. I use all sorts of meat and vegetables.

During the afternoon and at night, there are mostly car commercials and commercials for all sort of drugs and medicines.

Now it is sunny but it keeps changing from cloudy. The air is so humid that outside feels ugly. I’m glad to be inside with the AC on.

      Have a wonderful evening!

Our last meal in Paris was at Allard on Rue Saint Andre des Arts – We split several courses, but both buffaloed down the lamb chops. The room was full and pleasant, the service attentive but not over bearing and there were no pomme frites in sight.

I like ketchup and mustard and Heinz salad cream

      My Dear Hedley,

You had me with lamb chops! Most everyone I know won’t eat lamb. When I want it, I have two friends I always invite because they are the only ones who enjoy it. If I go to a really good restaurant, I sometimes order lamb. The last time was for Easter.

The French fries are served with fried seafood. If you’re going with fried, you go all the way.

I like all sorts of mustards and Heinz salad cream which I first tasted in Ghana.

I love lamb. Unfortunately, my spouse doesn’t like lamb and she only buys it when it’s marked down. One of the things I enjoy about traveling for business is that I can order lamb as often as I can find it on the menu. 🙂

I only have the two friends who eat lamb. No one else in my family eats it either.

I’ll buy it and hope I can get my friends over. They were here last winter for lamb chops. It must be time to have them over again.

If it wasn’t for food, I’d starve.
