“Forgive me if I snap at you. I’m myself today.”

When it is in the 40’s, the precipitation is rain. It started early last night, before six, and continues into now. The drops are small, closer to mist, but it is a storm nonetheless as the drops come steadily. The rain brings a pall not only to the day but also to me. I miss the sun. It hasn’t appeared in a while, and I crave the light. When I woke up this morning, I stayed in bed for a bit trying to think of a good reason to get up and about. I didn’t find one, but I got up anyway, took my shower and grumpily faced the day.

I took my time reading the papers and drinking my coffee hoping for a spark to brighten my mood, but the grumpy part hasn’t changed. Luckily I am the only one affected. The animals ignore me. They’re asleep; it’s morning nap time. The three of them are here with me. While Fern is snoring a bit, Gracie’s breathing is heavy, and Maddie sleeps soundlessly curled in a small ball. Each has her own spot. They won’t move from here unless I do. Wherever I go, Gracie will follow me. She always does.

My entire chore list for the day is to make my bed. I could do some grocery shopping, but that would only feed my mood. Even on the best of days, I hate to grocery shop. I have a feeling that nothing would lighten my mood today, not even balloons and Publisher’s Clearing House.

I figure I’m due for cantankerous and a grey day is the perfect excuse.

I dreamed that I stretched and made some sound this early morning and must have done the same in the real because all my animals woke up and demanded to get out. This was at 4am 🙂 🙂 No use in going back to bed after that 🙂

But the sun shone all day, the snow melted on the roofs and things could be worse. But it’s not even 8pm and I’m already ready for bed 🙂 🙂

    Have a great day!

Only rarely does Gracie want out enough to wake me up. With the dog door, I can let her out then go back to bed. She always joins me when she’s done. Gracie likes her sleep as much as I.

      No sun at all!

I love that little piece above from Sesame Street. Cute. No that has to get you up and going Kat.

What you need is ‘light’ therapy. A better term would be illumnation therapy. People who live in Alaska, especially in the winter months, and folks who work at night suffer from a lack of sunlight. It’s possible to purchase light panels that you can put in a room and bath yourself in light rays. This is supposed to make you feel better. It may be in the same category as acupuncture, but it’s worth a try. Light therapy will not make you feel better when the man from Publishers Clearing house comes to your next door neighbor’s house and gives him or her a million dollars a year for life.

You gave me quite a laugh with your last sentence. I’d die if that ever happened.

I had a better rest of the day.

Grumpy or sad here. At least the disgusting whatever is out of stock, i got a giggle out of that, and of course I loved the muppets with Arlo. A friend is picking up some grocery items at the store when he goes shopping for himself, so that helps a great deal. Jewels is asleep by the sunny window in her basket and I will make sure she gets her walk later. My entire chore list is so long that I want to put my head under the pillow, but I will brave it and do a few simple things… Still waving…..

I figure the two, grumpy and sad, are related, maybe cousins.

Fern has taken to napping in Gracie’s grate in the afternoon sun. Gracie is none too happy but Fern doesn’t care!

Hmmm…. I bet Fern doesn’t care. Well if grumpy and sad are related, and there are gremlins in the apartment, I might have a family here.
