    A note posted on Songfacts.com:
This Matraca Berg penned ballad addresses the matter of aging, and Emmylou told Mojo magazine: “It’s difficult growing old, because you’re competing against album cover photos taken when you were 26 or 27. But ultimately what choices do you have? I just feel it’s wrong to say, ‘I looked good in my youth but I’m not satisfied with how I look now’.”

      J,
I actually chose this one because of the theme of aging and how can anyone could wrong with Emmy Lou Harris and Rodney Crowell?

I see pictures of myself from wayback and think, ” Wow, I was really young back then.” I don’t think of myself as old.
