The movie theater I love was built in the 1930 and is Art Deco. It has heavy chairs with leather backs and bottoms. The chairs once had doilies. They didn’t have AC for the longest time. I used to go early so I cold sit by one of the screen doors.
The illustrator Rockwell Kent designed a 6,400-square-foot mural for the auditorium’s ceiling, featuring a representation of the heavens and constellations. It was refurbished several years back and is beautiful.
