There was a time when we thought that everything could be sold via vending machines. Some stores are developing a system where as you place items in your cart the price is read automatically and you leave the store without having to check out. The money is then automatically charged to your credit or debit card.

I remember the vending machines in bus terminals and train stations. When I smoked, I bought packs from those machines. I also bought snacks.
I don’t shop in supermarkets, haven’t for years, but I like that idea of the automatic pricing.
