Glen Miller was a genius as a mucisian, composer and arranger. His big band was one of the most popular. Sadly, Glenn was lost in an airplane accident during WWII. His band during the war was the Official U.S. Army Air Force band. There was no Air Force branch until 1947.
They don’t know exactly where his plane crashed. It went missing between England and France. I remember the movie The Glenn Miller Story. James Stewart played him and June Allison was his wife. I am not a June fan but Jimmy Stewart was excellent.
I knew the Air Force was part of the army. That surprised me when I learned about it.
