A truly awful song from a truly awful album, Face Dances. Kenney Jones had become the drummer after Keith died and it just didnt work.
The ‘oo have a huge place in my musical history being the first band I ever saw some 49 years ago. I saw every variation of the Who – Moon Entwistle Townshend and Daltrey and the reducing band as Moon and John OD’d and left us. Frankly they are one of those bands where I have absolutely no idea how many times I have seen them
Slavishly I buy all their reissues and box sets. I even have one signed by the band (except Keith Moon) that I won in a VH1 contest.
The only thing in terms of excitement that i could compare to those early Who shows was being on the terraces of a football match and becoming part of the crowd. Telling the story again, I took a date de jour to the Hammersmith Odeon to see a Christmas show. It was so loud that she went to the bathroom and refused to come out, and I could not hear for 3 days..
My Dear Hedley,
I knew how bad this song is. It wasn’t going to be played, but I couldn’t find another coat song except covers of the posted songs so three sites later with no luck I said, “Okay, I have no choice.”
You have the most wonderful reminiscences of seeing and meeting your music icons. I am always jealous. The cape didn’t draw the big ones. I did see The Barbarians.
Rowen,
Not even a little envy about The Barbarians? They were formed here on the cape and had a hit or two, “Are You a Boy or Are You a Girl,” their most memorable song!

You and your poor date, mostly your poor date!

Nice, Hedley. You gave me a laugh. Kat, I share your envy.
