“I abhor the idea of a perfect world. It would bore me to tears.”

The morning went quickly. The sun was here then gone for a long while but it has since returned and brought the blue sky with it. The day is

Henry hasn’t avoided me. That’s a huge step for my boy. Usually if I do something he’s not happy about, he avoids me and won’t let near him or even pat him for a couple of days, but not this time!! He survived the car ride, being in the vet’s without me, getting weighed and examined and having to endure shots and a blood test. They also cut his nails. The second big step for Henry was he did not poop or pee on the back seat.

When I was a kid, a dime was a small fortune. We’re talking penny candy time and sometimes two for a penny. Popsicles were a nickel from the ice cream man. A dollar was in my birthday card. Once in a while there were two. I was rich beyond measure.

I have a five dollar bill in my wallet. It has been there since March. I can’t remember the last time I paid for anything with money.

Today I’ll just hang around. I have a few things to put in the car in preparation for my dump run tomorrow or maybe Monday, but that is my only plan for the day, except for my shower of course.

I find myself getting bored easily. I hunt through all the TV channels, sometimes twice hoping to find a movie which doesn’t need my complete attention. I find one and then watch for a half hour or so before I get bored and look for another movie to ignore. All of this confirms the Einstein didn’t say it quote, The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

    Hi Kat,

Between credit cards, Apple Pay and bank direct pay I not only use very little cash but I haven’t written a check in a long time. Cash may become a thing of the past once our generation has passed on. One frustrating thing is to be in the super market checkout line and an old person is waiting until all their groceries have been scanned before they begin writing a check. 🙂

Today is another beautiful day with the temperature in the mid 80s. A cold front may drive the temperatures down to more autumn like weather this next week. Tomorrow we should almost get to 90°.

      Hi Bob,
My cleaning couple take a check but most everything else is paid on-line. My debit card gets a lot of use when I shop locally. Because of frustrations at the supermarket, I stopped going there and had my groceries delivered a long time before the pandemic. I still have deliveries but from only two or three places: Imperfect Foods, Amazon Pantry and Rory’s Organic, a local store. The other day I had cupcakes delivered from a place I didn’t know existed in Hyannis. The cupcakes were delicious. I’ll order again.

Today has turned lovely. It is warm and sunny now, 70˚ still. Beautiful day!!

My better half goes grocery shopping because she likes to pick out her own produce. If I lived alone I would order and have the groceries delivered. My wife’s grandmother used to wait until all the groceries were rung up before beginning to write her check. It drove my wife crazy when she took her grandmother shopping. 🙂

I have received, for the most part, fruits and veggies in great shape. The companies are smart to do that so their customers will keep coming back. I have.
