Shelby Foote quote

A dentist’s delight. 🙁 Dentistry is a great profession. Even with fluoride in the water cavities still happen. Dentists fill them with amalgam fillings which eventually fail. They are replaced by crowns which eventually leads to root canals. They eventually fail leading to either dentures or Implants. A lifetime revenue stream. 🙂

My childhood fillings began to decay maybe thirty years or even longer after I first got them. The filling behind a front tooth looked black because of the age of the filling. Over time, the filings were replaced, and I haven’t had any problems. I did need a crown a while back because I broke a tooth. That’s on me.

You are very lucky. My ancestors bequeathed me poor quality teeth. Over the years I’ve paid to send several dentists kids to college. 🙂 Of course, having a sweet tooth didn’t help.

My braces did a job on my teeth, but I am lucky to have several still in working order. Going every six months makes a big difference. I used to tell my dentist I was paying for his boat.
