In 2002, the Driving USA tour came to the Palace of Auburn Hills and Mrs MDH and I went to see Macca for the very first time. There were a bunch of Cirque de Soleil folks wandering through the audience as we waited. The curtain dropped, there stood Paul McCartney armed with his Hofner bass guitar and he blasted in to “Hello Goodbye”

I have always loved the song and the video and the memories came flooding back and so did the tears. There are few people I have seen that had such total command of the stage and the audience (maybe Bowie).

I saw Paul McCartney again at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games in London, it was getting very late, we were at the opposite end of the arena and quickly it was time to go home.

simply love this pic and the video and the goofy dancing bit at the end. They woz the fab 4 and they woz there was we grew up.

      My Dear Hedley,
I have always envied you the concerts you’ve seen, but I think I envy this one the most. Given your description of the concert and you, I so wish I had been there or somewhere similar with a mesmerizing Paul singing on stage.

I have watched this video at least three times. I love the hula dancers.

The Beatles defined our generation and their music will live on forever. Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler and the Beatles. Maybe The White album will be considered classical music in 2118. 🙂

      Bob,
I agree wholeheartedly with you. The Beatles are already recognized as a phenomenon. Their music doesn’t fade!
