“Don’t worry…the world won’t end today. I’ve put it on my ‘To Do’ list for tomorrow,”

The perfect weather will end tomorrow, but I still have today. The morning air has a coolness left over from last night. When Henry went out, I followed, but I stayed on the deck while he romped in the yard. Some birds were singing while others flew in and out of the sunflower feeders. The goldfinches hug on the bag of thistle.

I noticed a few new flowers have burst from their buds in the front garden. I saw a purple flower and a small blue one in the back. Other bunches have buds growing  bigger and bigger every day. I can see their white flowers. Soon the whole garden will be a riot of colors.

Today I have a small must do list. I’m going to the dump. The new flowers for the deck need to be potted, and the chiminea needs tempering. Tomorrow is our first movie night so I want to buy a few groceries, put together the outside basket and finish the menu. The outside basket has punks, a lighter, some natural bug spray, sparklers and some balloons which light up. It also has movie napkins and some movie candy. The movie for tomorrow is The Beast from Yucca Flats which is on several worst movies ever lists. According to IMDB, this movie was filmed silent, had dubbed-in sound effects and voiced-over narration. The star is Tor Johnson who was in Plan Nine from Outer Space which should give you an idea of his acting talents.

My neighborhood is quiet again: no kids, no machinery. I don’t even hear a barking dog. I like the stillness. Maddie is sleeping but Henry is wandering. He won’t get on the couch because I put the halter on the couch. I want to leave it there so he no longer sees it as a threat, but he has to be on the couch for that to happen. I’ll see how long that takes.

It’s time to get moving, to work on that to do list.

I caught a mouse in my have a heart trap today and it must be bad in nature now because it ate a two year old and very dry piece of peanut butter. I gave it some dog chocolate to calm down its nerves before I released it 🙂

There’s a fire ban in the entire country here now, we seem to have forest fires all over this land now but none close to where I live thankfully. Today they caught someone who thought it would be a great idea to burn old tomato plants in his garden, the firemen arrived early enough to stop the fire from spreading too far. Sometimes I wonder how people are thinking?

I had hoped I wouldn’t have to go to the grocery store any more this week but I noticed I will need some more things already tomorrow but that is all I need to do for the rest of the week.

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

      Christer,
I always drive mine about a mile or so away. Mice will find their ways home, and I certainly don’t want any back. I think I have another so I have to set my have-a-heart trap.

The Boston Globe had a picture and an article about all the wild fires in Sweden. I was amazed to read how many large fires there are. What an idiot thinking to burn his plants. First, we know how dangerous fire is when it is so dry. Second, plowing or even hoeing under will enrich the soil.

I got everything I need for tomorrow. I was glad. I even made it to the dump.

      Have a great day!

I looked up The Beast of Yucca Flats, sounds like fun 🙂
For crazy movies maybe you need crazy food?
Popular German party food, part 1,
the minced raw meat hedgehog (German: Mett-Igel),
served with bread, salt and pepper:

      Birgit,
It looks great but not edible. The idea of the uncooked meat nearly made me gag. It would have to be served with a mask.

I love B black and white science fiction movies.

I wonder if Plan Nine is really the worst movie ever made. Obviously, Ed Wood became famous from the biopic about his B movie career and his cross dressing fetish starring Johnny Depp. Casting Bela Lugosi right before his demise was a stroke of genius. Jerry Seindfeld boosted it’s status mentioning it in the TV episode, “The Chinese Restaurant”. That episode is one of my favorite along with the Soup Nazi episode. Has anyone compiled a list of the worst films ever produced? Is Plan Nine really the worst of the worst?

Today we didn’t make it to 110 only 108. Not much difference when it gets that hot. 🙂

      Bob,
You’re talking about Glen and Glenda where Ed Wood starred with his girlfriend and Bela. I remember the scene where he tells her and admits he wants to wear her sweater. She lends it to him.

Bela died during the filming of Plan Nine. He was replaced by Ed Wood’s dentist who hides his face with his cape. We aren’t supposed to notice the physical differences.

There are actually several worst movies list. Wikipedia lists them by decade. Others just list them in order. Some films are on many lists while others appear on one. Plan Nine is on many.

Great weather today and I just shut the window behind me as it is getting chilly.

Yes, Glen and Glenda. Sometimes memory is the second thing to go with old age. What’s the first thing to go? I can’t remember. 🙂 The only way to feel chilly here is to crank up the air conditioning. 🙂

        Bob,
You’d like the weather tonight. It is quite comfortable. Today was a delight.

It may rain tomorrow, and rain is predicted for Sunday. I’m glad. We haven’t had rain in a while
