“Up” was really the end of the road for Peter in terms of new/non cover material. I had clunked along for many years with Gabriel and his shows were quite an event including hurling himself backwards in to the audience and hoping that we caught him – Please to report that we did when we saw him at Pine Knob MI
Peter resurfaced in 2012 with the “So” 25th Anniversary Tour which my daughter and I saw at the Palace.
Based on your notes, I am not sure that you are that familiar with Gabriel so let me show you Biko. It was from his third album, produced by my boyhood friend, it was critically important.
My Dear Hedley,
No, I am not all that familiar with Peter Gabriel. This song popped up on one site so I gave it a listen and knew it was perfect for posting. I am totally familiar with Stephen Biko and the fight against apartheid.
Thanks for posting this. I found the music, especially the bagpipes, an amazing sound. “You can blow out a candle
But you can’t blow out a fire.”
