Sometimes I believe that this is the America that no longer exists. However, it still exists here in Texas. I don’t often think about rural Texas and the people who still farm and ranch much of the state. There are 800,000 head of cattle in the state. Here’s a great story about those who still make a living from the soil. The folks we in the big cities never think about even when we go to the grocery store.

      Bob,
That story was so sad and so tragic. I think dying by burning has to be horrible. I’d hope too suffocate first. The three deaths were so awful, such wonderful people especially Cody. Thanks for linking it.

In parts of all the New England states, especially Vermont, there are still farms, small towns and rural areas though not as vast as the ranches and the pastures.

      minicapt,
For some reason, despite the trees in the back, I thought this was in some mid-Western prairie state.

      That is one large family!

        minicapt,
        We are only four.

I think there are eight in this pictures.

My mother was the third of eight. Her youngest sister is five months younger than I am, one month older than one of my cousins and four months older than another.
