Ah, the wacked out Roky. I think I may have shared a song of his a couple of years back, but I still have to give you props for giving him a bit more exposure. He may not be unique in the music business, but he’s close to it — on the 13th floor at least. His story is truly a cautionary tale of what the excesses of drugs and rock and roll can do (don’t know about the sex part). Somebody needs to make a documentary about him.
im6,
I am amazed at his biography. I didn’t have any idea. How awful to live in such a haze of drugs and ECT’s. His brother did him great service.
From the Wikipedi, “A documentary film on the life of Roky Erickson titled You’re Gonna Miss Me was made by director Keven McAlester and screened at the 2005 SXSW film festival. “
