Music Downloads
Last week someone had trouble downloading a song from Box. I tried and could download so we figured it was her browser, but yesterday I was told Box was no longer allowing downloads. I went and could get the file, but I thought it was because I had uploaded it. The hunt was on to find another site. I am trying picosong. Yesterday the links were for that site. I will also add Box for the next few days in case there was a glitch.
Let me know if you are having problems with picosong and continued problems with Box.

I don’t use these links, it’s easier to take the link provided by the feed page which is song played in wordpress-player. Checked both now with (Linux-)Firefox 38.
Box says you’ve reached the bandwidth limit. (Message was hidden, I had to deactivate css to read it.) Just yesterday I downloaded a song from Box from another blog / account without problems, so your DL problem should be just temporary.
Picosong, never heard of them, first try failed, probably just the usual cookie problem, no need to worry. I’m in a hurry and have to try again another time.
Chorus rehearsal soon and I will miss USA-Germany soccer tonight 😦

Birgit,
I never thought I’d reached my bandwidth limit as I haven’t done it ever before. I wonder how long a wait it will be.
I don’t know what you mean by the feed page link. I right clicked everything and found nothing. I’d like to stay with Box as it is easy to upload and share.
Sorry you’ll miss the game. Our allegiances are at cross-purposes!

Kat, feed page readability depends on your browser, it works with firefox, you may not see it with your browser. (I don’t know anything about Safari. Or Apple. Or I-Whatever.)

Thanks, Birgit,
I also have Firefox though I use Safari.
I won’t test it as I was able to download this morning.

Birgit means that some of us use feed readers to access blogs and news sites that tell us when a new post has been published on sites we subscribe to, rather than our having to go check the sites ourselves. In Feedly, which is what I use, the music posts from your site include a link to the mp3 you have on your site, in addition to the player widget that you use.

Thanks sprite, as I had no idea what I was supposed to look for or find.

Birgit – I thought perhaps today you will be dwelling up the departure of Hansi – Born to English and German parents, Germany’s biggest ever pop star James Last sold 100 million albums.
He lived as a rock star should, describing himself as an “Enthusiastic Partier”
We must wait patiently for the KTCC tribute to the music of James Last.
The activities in Cologne are all over the Fox Networks and Univision and certainly will be live on my desk top in Detroit.
I don’t download, I am still coming to grips with my Amazon Music Sound Cloud library

Hedley, I’m proud to say that none of the 100 million James Last albums was sold to me and that I survived countless German TV shows with James Last without mental damage. Oops, my love for punk music must have a reason…

That would be Germany 1 USA 2

MDH,
That would be a spectacular finish!

Congratulations! I hope it wasn’t too embarrassing for our team. Perhaps they should learn from our female team, Ivory Coast 0 – 10 Germany 😉

Still trying to figure out the Box download problem…
If the given bandwidth error message is true it can either refer to the traffic limit or the storage limit. The storage limit for free accounts should be 10 GB inclusive trash folder. Traffic limit is 10 GB/month and is reset on the first day of each month. Average song file size 5 MB and limit 10 GB means roughly 2000 files or downloads.
1.) Storage limit: check your account (also the trash folder) if you haven’t deleted files (not only links!) regularly. According to the Box help page files usually stay in trash folder for 30 days and count as storage so you’ll have to try to completely delete the trash files too to regain storage space.
2.) Traffic limit: 2000 downloads in ~10 days is unlikely but possible if you consider your faithful readers and your nice music choices and especially automatic harvesters. Wait until June 1st. (Or get a second Box account if Box allows?)
3.) I may be completely wrong.
Too tired to check Picosong tonight, anyway it’s more helpful when other readers with more common computers do it.

Birgit,
I’m on my iPad so the Box view is different. It says I have used 111% but the actual amount is lower than what I am allowed. There was no trash with this view so I’ll have to check my laptop tomorrow. I don’t get 2000 downloads ever. Maybe they forgot to reset at the start of the month. I did send a query asking that.
I will check the total view my laptop gives tomorrow. Thanks about the trash as I didn’t know anything about clearing it.

I have nothing substantive to contribute to the Dropbox conversation except that I never realized I could change the playback speed of the songs on it. Johnny just marched home at a full sprint at 2x the normal pace, which had me in tears of laughter.
