Let Me Entertain You: Annie Ross

Two of my stalwarts decided today was hijack KTCC Day. Their intention was to make today’s theme strippers. I beat them to it.

I was thinking Gypsy Rose Lee and Sally Rand, stripteasers who never took all their clothes off-they left it to the imagination of the audience to finish the disrobing.Β

    An outrage !

I for one want to formally protest at not only the idea of a KTCC hijack but that it might possible include a discussion at KTCC of gals who undress a lot. Heck you might as well suggest that Christine Keeler was a stripper, which she wasn’t. Call girl perhaps, smoking hot definitely, but not a stripper

I intend to be very vigilant today for anything off color and will send a drone in the general direction of anyone naughty.

      My Dear Hedley,
Please, not a stripper but rather a striptease artist!

Notice I did not include Christine Keeler!

Nothing about being hoisted by your own petard?

Ummmmm, I believe that should be ONE of your stalwarts. And it isn’t me. Who, oh who, could it be?

There’s a bit of coincidence today that’s really interesting and has me looking over my shoulder. In addition to your stripper theme with “Let Me Entertain You” (from my favorite musical, “Gypsy,”), today on my Facebook news feed, someone posted a video of Angela Lansbury watching recently found footage of her 1975 Tony Award winning performance as Mama Rose. These two “Gypsy” references were completely independent of one another. I guess it was just meant to be!

Okay boys and girls. It’s time for class. Take notes:

Gee, I wonder who the stalwarts might be? I for one always like to look at the accuser!

Be afraid, be very afraid! It seems there is collusion today directed at you!

I didn’t know Gypsy is your favorite musical. It is pure coincidence Let me Entertain You was chosen. It came to mind immediately when I decided to usurp the hijacking.

      Great song, great costumes!

Useless, no action, a whole bunch of trumpet, not crumpet – that would be Natalie Wood

    im6 ain’t no Tonto

    • katry's avatar katry Says:

      MDH,
Could he say the same about you? Who does wear the mask?

      • hedley's avatar hedley Says:

I’m more of your basic Richard the Lionheart, queue Dermot Walsh. A jolly good crusade and a willingness to drone, even if it is South Texas

Of course none of this would have started if someone hadn’t started a rumor about moving to California for 17 months

      • katry's avatar katry Says:

        MDH,
Drone? Do good guys hide behind a drone?

What can I say? I was following the directions in regard to the movement!

      • hedley's avatar hedley Says:

You deliberately mislead Austin Tonto and myself, suggesting, no, stating that you, Gracie and various pussycats were heading West for an extended stay.

We had images of a new KTCC extolling the virtues of your beloved ball team from Chavez Ravine.

      • katry's avatar katry Says:

        MDH,
No matter where I ever move, my beloved Sox come with me!!

It was not meant to mislead. It had something to do with a breast cancer around the world thing. Now, aren’t you ashamed?

      • hedley's avatar hedley Says:

        I am without shame.

I am looking out of the window at “Little Fluffy Clouds” – answers on a postcard please to
(My money is on Birgit, not im6)

      • Birgit's avatar Birgit Says:

Hedley, sorry, no postcard. I had to look it up. My excursions into electronic music didn’t go any further than Can and Holger Czukay.

As a completely innocent stalwart I’d like to add: Great singer! My favorite song is Twisted and I love the Lambert, Hendricks & Ross records. She even sang with Iggy and the link to this song is… wait…
Hedley, what’s the maximum range of your drone? πŸ˜‰

    • katry's avatar katry Says:

      BNirgit,
Yes, you are an innocent stalwart!

I think she sings this song perfectly, as it should be sung!

You’re not thinking you may be in danger?

    • hedley's avatar hedley Says:

      Birgit
I am a bit Kim Jong il, I can launch the drone but have no guaranty that I can even hit Austin. HOWEVER, if you fire up the Igg, don’t be surprised if I point one at my favorite gal from Bochum

    • Birgit's avatar Birgit Says:

Kat and Hedley, for safety’s sake no link to Iggy’s “Evil California” with Annie Ross as background singer and I don’t mention that it can be found on YouTube πŸ˜‰

RIght, following the failure of Austin Tonto to produce the goods, here is the real thing – Ms Lily

  6. katry's avatar katry Says:

    MDH,
    She was magnificent!!

    • hedley's avatar hedley Says:

Who else could deliver “7 or 8 quick ones and you are off with the boys” – brilliant

      • katry's avatar katry Says:

        MDH,
Not a soul! Not in that way she had with even a single syllable!

β€œOh, sweet mystery of life, at last i’ve found you!”
