This Is a Public Service Announcement.
Marie has started her blog again. She posts the most amazing music, nothing at all similar to mine but great music you might not find anywhere else. The link is to the right under Music Blogs. Click It’s All in the Grooves and go visit. I swear you’ll go back often.

As Smokey Robinson once sang: I second that emotion.

im6,
I hope lots of people are shifted her way!!!

Kat,
Thank you so much for this encouragement! You just made my day (I should say, week!)
You and im6 have motivated me to stick to a daily schedule!

Marie/Kat: you both make me want to start a blog so badly. I was always the one who took the 45s to parties when I was in junior and high school. Then in college and beyond, I’m the one who was always grabbing friends and telling them, “You’ve got to hear this!” (And as you both know, I’m not without my opinions!) I know how you GET a blog (I actually have a URL, but haven’t developed it), but not sure how you go about embedding music players, etc. Any input would be appreciated. (Just what the world needs: ANOTHER blog)

im6,
As you might remember, Blogger gave me three strikes and killed my first blog. I have found WordPress far friendlier, and that’s where I suggest you start. On it, embedding music is really easy and you end up with that player I have. I will take you by the hand and lead you through it all. Just let me now.
You will have great music!!!

I’ll have to set something up with WordPress as I have a Blogger URL established. Once I get unpacked (it could be a while!), I’m ready for you to hold my hand (“whooooooo,” said The Beatles).

im6,
Hold your hand I will!! I swear it is easy!!

Marie,
I wanted to bring globs of people by to listen. I hope it works!

Marie, I’ve been to your blog, have added it to my reader list and downloaded a tune from The Cat and the Fiddlers (?). You see I have been through some of the archives, too. I like the background notes that you write. Great job! I’ll be back.

Caryn,
I always forgot to hit the reply button and end up placing it way at the bottom.
Thanks again.

Kat,
A few people have already wandered over – so thanks again. 😉
im6,
As much as I wanted to set up a WordPress blog, I was never able to get it to work properly, despite Kat’s very clear instructions. Blogger was so straight-forward and dummy-friendly that even I couldn’t fail to organize it.
Whatever option you decide to use, I too would be happy to offer all the help I can.

“I too would be happy to offer all the help I can.”
You say that now 😉

Caryn,
Thanks and I’m so glad that you enjoyed the visit.
Cheers,
Marie

I’m headed that way now…
Waving to Marie and Kat,
Lori aka ?
July 23, 2013 at 8:16 pm
Hi Lori,
Marie here, waving like mad to you!
July 23, 2013 at 8:21 pm
Waving back at you, Lori!!

I did get there, but had trouble finding out how to listen to the music. I did wave though.

Lori,
The name of the song is the link. Click it and it brings you to a page where you can listen and also download (click the second square in the right corner which says Download).

I’ve just returned on a jet plane. I’ve been on vacation for the last couple of weeks. It will take a while to get caught up everywhere, let alone here on Coffee. That said, there is always time for another music blog when you’re a music lover like I am.

Cuidado,
Welcome home! I hope it was a wonderfully restful vacation.
You’ll really like Marie’s choices in music!!

PS I love “returned on a jet plane.” It was clever and fun!!

Came looking to see if Marie had offered any comment on her decision to discontinue her blog so soon. Was disappointed to see the only thing left was a message on her home page.
July 24, 2013 at 10:34 pm
im6,
I think she had hoped for some comments with her music, some conversations with her visitors. She feels people aren’t all that interested in what she has to say. They swoop in, download the music and leave. I’ve tried to convince her that a blog takes a long time to catch on with people. Mine did. My old blog used to have over 1000 visits a day. This one doesn’t, but I’m okay with that. I love writing it and I love my Coffee family. I tried to tell Marie to be patient, but I guess I didn’t convince her.
July 24, 2013 at 10:47 pm
That’s a shame, Kat. I emailed her to what I believe is her email address trying to encourage her to be patient. I got the same feeling as you — she is disappointed that things weren’t an immediate success. That’s probably more the rule than the exception she wanted it to be! I had no idea Coffee got such traffic. I feel really special to have forged a bond with you with so much competition!

im6,
The 1000+ was in my Blogger days, and I even hit a million total visitors on that blog. With this one I average about 5 to 6 hundred a day.
I remember how excited I was when I first hit 100 people. I wanted fireworks and a parade.
Marie has a different e-mail. I’ll send it to you.
How could we not connect? We have so very much in common, and I love comments you make and your music. Through you I have met so many different artists. It didn’t take long for me to consider you a friend!!
July 25, 2013 at 9:49 am
Marie, sadly you were too fast and impatient for me. Thanks for the songs and information I was able to hear/read. Especially some vocal groups and old guitar heros. Yesterday I tried to comment twice but failed. I still don’t know why the standard blogger comment system doesn’t like me or my computer. Unfortunately I don’t have enough time to listen to music 24 hours a day, though I would love to do so.
