Ok, I tried to listen to this and the office started removing sharp knives from the kitchen……uuuurrrgggghghghh

    • Kat Says:

      My Dear Hedley,
Sorry, but I felt compelled to post at least one song from this album. I promise no more after today!

  2. Hedley Says:

As previously stated….This is Music to slit your Wrists to…

Heck after today I might start making unreasonable demands for a Stookeynator event

    • Kat Says:

      My Dear Hedley,
It might have been tongue in cheek, but you’re the one who gave me the idea!

      • Hedley Says:

I acknowledge that. I fully understand that Leonard Cohen deserves the ultimate accolade of a special day at KTCC.

I am also expecting that your family, which is predominantly of the cat loving nature, will be sharing reflections of those very special Cohen experiences which are or were part of the fabric of their lives.

I freely admit that I did own “Songs of” on vinyl. I think that the theory is that it would make me more attactive. Similarly, I bought a square faced Omega watch (think Bryan Ferry) which would be an instant babe magnet

Sometimes, I am really confused, but that is ok.

  3. Kat Says:

    My Dear Hedley,
My family has dogs and dogs, both seem to go together. We have multiple cats and each of us has one dog. The cats need far less attention thus multiples.

I doubt my family listens to Leonard. My niece and nephews listen to groups whose names I don’t know. They sing along with songs I have never heard before. My sisters and their husbands do not listen to music. I don’t know why. I think they may in the car, but of that I am not sure.

Well, were they babe magnets? Tell all!!

    • Hedley Says:

Family was intended to be the Katnicks, not your actual family. I think readers of KTCC have a bias towards cats and cohen.

“Songs of” drew a big fat zero. The square Omega was purchased when I was a clerk at the Bank of England. Its acquisition from Mappin and Webb did coincide with somebody special in my life. But that was 35+ years ago. 🙂
The little watch continues to work and is treasured.

      • Kat Says:

Ah, and here I was giving you a play by play of the relatives!

I don’t know about the cats. Zoey does have 2 cats but Christer has 3 dogs, Clare has 1 as does Caryn. I figure it’s a dog’s world here on Coffee. With Maggie we have 7 that I know of and only 4 cats.

I think I’d treasure a watch that has memory attached and has been with me 35 years. I do have one which but it is only14 years old. My mother gave it to me and for that I treasure it.

back in the day i always preferred to slit my wrists to janis ian.

    • Kat Says:

      greg,
I think we all have one of those but I don’t remember mine. A disappearing memory can be a good thing.

  5. pbilly Says:

I feel like a missing link (hint, hint).

  6. Mario Bergeron Says:

Really ? A new LC record ? The man don’t have no singin’ voice anymore, but it works on that one, like on the Dear Heather CD, my favorite Cohen of all time. Other musts are : The First album, Songs of Love & Hate, The Future. Also New Skin For The Old Ceremony. By the way, I have a Chelsea Hotel No 1 at home.Yes, there was a previous version, on a bootleg. Also love Cohen songs by others, like the Graeme Allwright covers. I don’t think there will never be another one like Cohen.

    • katry Says:

      Mario,
This one is getting good reviews.

Some would say he never had a voice, but I am not among them. I have three or four albums but his first is still my favorite.
