Bo Bennett quote

I remember cueing records in a radio station when disk jockeys actually played records live on the air. Today all the music radio stations are automated with the music selected by a computer. The announcers are also pre-recored voices that go along with the songs. A real human being recored the intro and banter once and they are played by the computer along with the music to thousands of automated stations around the world.
The only live DJs are on college radio stations where they are earning credits towards a broadcasting degree.

Bob,
The station in PTown, a locally run one, still has human beings playing the music. They sometimes make mistakes and play the wrong song and apologize profusely so you know they’re right there.
I loved the heyday of the DJ. They became icons to us.

It was around 12.45 pm when in a coke fueled moment Gary Numan decided to spin his promo copy of “Sing along a Max”…..next thing you knew young Gary was singing about Cars
