I first heard of Louis Prima from the movie Big Night, now one of my favorites. Two Italian brothers run a restaurant, get ready for a big night hosting Louis Prima (who never shows up) and it’s the best party ever even though they’re bankrupted. This youtube clip has a terrific scene with great food and great music:
Glad you liked it. The movie is a lot of fun. Set in the late 1950’s, probably Connecticut shore somewhere.
In another really short scene, as the party winds down (everybody fully fed, had plenty to drink, it’s past 2AM, all is mellow, somebody playing gently on piano and Louis Prima never showed), the silence is broken by one woman who breaks out in tears, crying, “My mother…was… such a terrible cook!”

Ted,
That was an amazing clip. The food was magnificent and the diners ate with the most fabulous gusto. The end, after they’d eaten, was perfect.
The music gave more life to the clip.
Thanks!
