I freely admit that my musical tastes do not really match KTCC, right now I am listening to Beirut’s The RIp Tide but there is something special about Glenn Campbell’s version of Jimmy Webbs wonderful song
I was in the old country in August and saw a very sympathetic interview with Glenn Campbell about his struggles with Alzheimer’s disease. It was open, honest and with humour. It may be his last tour of England but hopefully the lineman will remind everyone of Glenns wonderful skills
Jim,
That was a great review. It is awful to think that his voice and playing will be untouched by the disease, but he won’t remember his songs. That audience was quite lucky.

My Dear Hedley,
I know our tastes are not the same so I do try and find songs by groups you mention and most times I like them.
I have always liked this song though I haven’t ever been a Glen Campbell fan. There is just something about this song.
I didn’t realize he had Alzeimer’s disease, and I hope you are right about this song’s legacy.

Glen also filled in and played with the beach boys band in the early years

Glen played the Royal Festival Hall (London) a couple of week’s. I wasn’t able to get a ticket, but by all accounts, it was a very good concert:
