Freddie Garrity is long gone but was he, and the dreamers, and the Manchester sound bigger than the Beatles? Probably not but they were a lot of fun.
Today the Manchester sound tends to be associated with Joy Division and the Smiths from the 80s but we all “did the Freddie” long before shouting “how soon is now”

My Dear Hedley,
They were not bigger than The Beatles, but I totally agree they had a far more fun sound.
I did the Freddie quite well!
