crotchety: grouchy or cantankerous
This has been a dawdling morning. The sun is in and out, but it’s cold. My heat has been left at 62° just in case, and it was on this morning. The house was mighty cold. I should have realized it when I woke up and found Gracie huddled right beside me. Last night it rained again and the day is still damp. I have little incentive to do anything. For the purpose of personal hygiene, I will shower and brush my teeth, but that’s about it.
My muse is gone for the day. I have no idea where she went, but I hope it’s warm. I started reading last night, but I just couldn’t get interested, started another book hoping it would grab me, but it didn’t either. I’m thinking it’s me, not the books. Cold, rainy days are starting to get to me. Even the Red Sox got rained out last night. My deck is ready, but the weather just isn’t. I want dinner and a movie outside in the warmth of a summer night. Crotchety is how I’d describe myself today. Good thing I’m not expecting company.
This may make a record for the shortest post ever.

The BoSox didn’t get rained out unfortunately. It was a 2:45 minute rain delay – and THEN extra innings. It ended around 11:40 out here in AZ – that’s 2:40AM back in your area.
And of course, they LOST.
If you’re watching today’s game – which starts in 20 minutes or so – watch for the zombies in uniform.

S,
I checked so many times I gave up! I least I missed a loss which strangely enough makes me feel better.
I knew the day game was on at 1:30 so I’ll give it a whirl. Maybe I’ll bring them luck.

Much the same over here today. Sort of takes all energy away from me and the only thing good today is the fire in the stove 🙂 🙂
But it´s changing to better and warmer weather tomorrow again they say and I do hope they are right even if statistics shows they usually aren´t 🙂 🙂 🙂
Have a great day even if it feels difficult 🙂
Christer.

Christer,
I just didn’t enjoy the day. It was far too nasty.
It seems to me that by this date we should have one lovely day!

Hi Kat
Some days are just crotchety days. I had my crotchety day yesterday. Today is procrastination day. I’m just going to roll with it.
The sun is trying to show it’s face. All it is managing is to brighten the grey a bit. It is still cold.

Hi Caryn,
I think I had both today. I never even made my bed, but I did take a nap.
It never got nice or even pleasant.

This year’s April was the warmest ever.
Also the dryest, causing a national fire hazart.
Spring comes early in Holland, mainly by the warm gulfstream. I can not imagine myself in winters from September to May.
For this weekend the forecast is 85 degrees, which is already way too warm for me. I slink from one shadow to the next. My small garden is lush. I need to water the plants. They are begging me. So, work to do.

Bert,
We start to hit the 80’s in late July. We have a day or two over 90 but that’s about it. We get killed by the humidity rather than the heat.
Today is 60° and seems quite warm to me. My lawn is lush and green and the flowers are coming up so the season is moving at the right pace around these parts.
85° is too, too hot.
