I’ve always liked Hawaiian music. I would like to have visited the islands but never made it. The volcanoes fascinate me. I have climbed a few in New Zealand and Italy.

    Peter,
I haven’t ever had the wish to visit Hawaii. I do wish I’d seen places like Tahiti and more of the Pacific islands. I was ready for a trip to Asia then my roommate said she was engaged and selling her cape house to move back home, the western part of the state. I bought my house with my trip money. I’ve not regretted it.

I went to Tahiti.. Stayed in a small cabin in a beach side resort on the nearby island of Moorea.

        Peter,
Did you enjoy Tahiti? Instead of the Orient, I did South America landing in Caracas and taking off 7 weeks later from Rio.

Yes, we had a week of leisure with snorkelling, boat trips, cycling and socialising. A traditional dance troop put on a performance. From Tahiti we flew to Los Angeles. There we rented a car and explored parts of California and Arizona, and of course visited Las Vegas. There we met up with my daughter, son in law and granddaughter, for a few crazy days and nights. It was the last stage of our round the world trip, we were on our “senior gap year” as I called it.

        Peter,
I would have had a similar Tahiti trip. I think I might have added additional islands. I would have had to hunt around for a travel companion.

For college graduation I got a trip to Europe with my friends. It was one of those five countries in an hour and a half, but I got my Peace corps acceptance, my first choice, so I accepted it. I did do quite a bit of Europe after Peace Corps.
