A massive favourite of mine. My mother used to buy a record or two when out shopping on Saturday mornings. She often brought Stones disks, which my brother, my sister and I loved. This was one of those. We had a second-hand record player. I finally got to see the band live in the 1990s.
Peter, I also count this as a favorite of mine. I actually decided to fan out and play a different singer as we all know The Stones singing this. Irma Thomas also sang this song, and it was released the same year as The Stones’ version. I just couldn’t find it to post. The one I found was protected.
I love that your mother bought records. My mother didn’t know most of the groups and singers except for the most well known like The Beatles. She did have a hifi, the first one in my neighborhood. She introduced me to her favorites and so very much broadened my musical horizon.
