A set of heart-warming, evocative photographs. They make me feel guilty for becoming something of a cynic about Christmas. However, we have a decorated tree and Christmas lights in the house, have sent cards to all and sundry, distributed presents to relatives, and will visit 97 year old mother in law on Christmas Day. Later, we will have lunch with friends (possibly outdoors if there is no rain). On Boxing Day (26 December) we will be partying at a neighbours house.

Those photographs are what had me post this particular video. I have never been a cynic about Christmas. My mother was what we called a Christmas bug, and she passed that along to my sisters and me. My brother is unsentimental about everything so Christmas is just an ordinary day to him, too bad for him.
Usually my house is decoration central but this year not so much. It was just too much to carry all the boxes upstairs from the cellar. I did bake and give my friends food gifts. I have lights in the downstairs rooms so they look festive.
My family is not near by so I won’t see them but will talk to them on Christmas. They sent packages so I’ll open them on Christmas Day. I went shopping today and bought all the fixings for my Christmas dinner. I even bought a few Christmas treats.
I’m ready for the big day!
