I vividly remember going to the old Yankee Stadium with my uncle and my cousin to see a baseball game in 1960. This was before the New York Met’s were in existence. We traveled from Brooklyn by subway all the way to the Bronx. We stopped off at the Times Square station to buy a huge bag of freshly roasted peanuts from the Mr. Peanut store. We were going to watch a double header and needed the extra large bag. A statue of Mr. Peanut stood next to the door of the peanut store.

You do need peanuts to watch a baseball game! Hyannis also used to have a Mr. Peanuts store. It smelled so good we couldn’t walk by it without stopping to shop. Warm peanuts are the best!
