Kids in Brooklyn in the early 1950s used to hang on to street cars to pull them on their bikes. Dangerous then and now. Notice no one wore bicycle helmets when we were kids. We didn’t have seat belts nor shoulder harnesses either. Amazing that we lived through childhood back then. 🙂

We used to be pulled on sleds behind my father’s car. I think that cars back then were slower, and there were far fewer of them. I always felt safe.
