It’s so hard to remember the musical contradictions. This pretty song was number one with a wholesome group of folk singers, but at the same time music was blowing up as Ready Steady Go (1963) hit the TV airwaves and we had The Rolling Stones in our face on a Friday night.
Society was facing a seismic shift, Pirate radio was coming and Judith Durham was #1. The BBC continued to favor safe music but options were jumping up which would not include the Seekers.
Wonderful Judith Durham. What a voice

      MDH,
If I’m not singing along I’m smiling while listening to this amazing voice.

I stayed with folk music. I did embrace the new music, the Stones et al, but my favorite has always been folk. Once I heard folk I was hooked.
