It always sorta amused me that the Manfred’s version of this Bruce Springsteen song, was their only #1 Billboard hit. It was a dump down on Bruce’s first album, Greetings from Asbury Park NJ, which had significantly better songs IMHO.
I struggled mightily with watching the 20th anniversary commemoration of 9/11. It remains an extraordinarily difficult . Out strolled a very subdued Bruce, and he played a very thoughtful acoustic version of “I’ll see you in my Dreams” .
I have been on the Bruce train a very long time and he continues to have these magical moments that mean so much
MDH,
If you had asked me to name a Manfred Mann song, I would have been hard-pressed to remember one, but, after I heard this, I remembered. It must have been because it reached number 1.
I did not watch the commemorations. I still have visual memories I wish I didn’t have; instead, I watched old movies. They did not disappoint.
I found the Bruce Springsteen video of “I’ll see you in my Dreams.” It was mighty.
