In all the years I ate in Chinese restaurants I never tried Chop Suey. I knew it wasn’t Chinese but invented for American palates. So was Egg Foo Young and Egg Rolls. Regardless I love them all. There are now numerous authentic Chinese and other authentic Asian restaurants in the DFW area. Since traveling to Hong Kong and South China, I love the authentic stuff better.

I don’t like chop suey either. I don’t know anyone who is. I prefer spring rolls over egg rolls. When my friends and I order, we usually get a couple of appetizers, lo mein and sometimes one other main dish. I’ve come to prefer Thai food.
