“The arrogance of men is thinking that nature is in our control, and not the other way around. “

Today is even lovelier than yesterday. It will reach 69˚ for the high. If I were the weatherman, I’d be tempted to bump the temperature one more degree. Who would know? It would be a kindness. 70˚ sounds so much warmer than 69˚.

My view out the den window is narrow, but I can see the bright green new leaves on the oak tree beside the deck starting to unfurl. The big oak in the back of the yard already has leaves. It is in the perfect spot to catch the afternoon sun. I was going to try to get my dump sticker today, but I have decided to stay home. I thought about going out, but I’d have to take only right turns. I slept wrong so if I turn my head to the left, my neck hurts, a yelping hurt. I did imagine the ride to town hall, and I’d have to travel miles to find those right turns.

When I woke up with a sore neck, that tempered my morning. I didn’t talk I yelled at Henry to stop barking and to Jack to stop eating pencil erasers. Both of them wisely left to other rooms but Jack has returned. He is sleeping on the back of the couch behind me on an afghan. I can hear him lightly snoring. Henry is upstairs on my bed taking his morning nap, not to be confused with his afternoon nap, his early evening nap and his late night nap.

I washed the kitchen floor yesterday. It was not on any list. I just couldn’t take the paw prints anymore. The floor looks great. Today I’ll work on upstairs. I vacuumed last night, but I need to wash the bathroom floor. Jack is a messy drinker when he bellies up to the toilet. When I was patting Jack this morning, I found at least four clumps. I got three out but the fourth took a bit of doing. Jack whacked me. I stopped but I did get the clump. There are more, but I’ll comb him.

Little did I know how many Godzilla movies there are. He fights every monster I know and several I don’t know. I was looking for something to watch this morning when I happened on the Godzilla list. The Godzilla titles are so numerous many include the year of the movie to help keep track of their chronology. I have seen the original but only once. It was made in 1954. The latest is from 2019, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. You need to pay to see that one. I wonder if many people have seen it. Some of the others you also have pay to watch. Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla is one of those for rent. I was not even tempted; however, I have keyed the original. I haven’t seen it in a while, but I have to end here so I can read the subtitles. I think it’s a great way to spend the afternoon, and my TV is at a right angle from the couch.

    Hi Kat,

Today is another gorgeous day with sunny skies and a high temperature of 77°. I will take this kind of weather anytime. In mid August the thermometer will get up into the triple digits and I will long for days like today.

All the Godzilla movies warned us in the 1950s not to fool around with Mother Nature. Obviously, we didn’t pay attention, especially during the last four years. The monsters of global warming are far worse, more frequent hurricanes, more severe weather outbreaks and other changes we haven’t yet experienced.

My new yard maintenance company arrived this morning and my spouse was upset that they weren’t wearing masks. We are still enforcing mask policies on anyone coming onto our property. My wife handed the lawn crew masks. Who knows who is vaccinated or not and getting sick from Covid-19 is still a possibility even after being vaccinated, just not winding up in the ICU on a ventilator. Already the Texas Ranger baseball team dropped their little obeyed mask policy. On TV it looks like maybe one out 100 people were wearing masks at the ball games.

Did the CDC open up a pandora box with yesterday’s announcement? Will I have to show my vaccination card while walking unmasked in the street? We haven’t and probably won’t ever reach herd immunity.

      HI Bob,
I’d want just a few more degrees for my perfect weather day. It has been warm all day but didn’t get beyond the 69˚ of this morning. The next few days should be the same.

It was underwater H-bombs which woke Godzilla from his deep sleep. He ran out of fish to eat so he thought he’d try humans. The scientist, of course, wanted to study the live Godzilla.

My guys don’t wear masks either, but I’m not outside when they work on the yard so no risk to me. I had a uke lesson Wednesday with real people. All of us had been vaccinated. We didn’t wear masks. Opening the world is starting.

If you are unmasked, the assumption is you are vaccinated, but if you are not vaccinated and are running around unmasked, the risk is to you not to those vaccinated. I think there comes a point where you trust the professionals or stay cooped up inside all the time.

They had already pretty much said all along that herd immunity was nearly impossible.

Other than H bombs, the real Godzilla from climate change will be worse. I agree with you about the outside workers not wearing masks, but my better half is still nervous. By around the 4th of July I hope she comes around.

I’m sorry about your wife being so nervous. She is definitely not alone with those feelings. I hope hers go way in time.

I hadn’t heard about that last one so I’ve watched some trailers now 🙂 Well I am a Godzilla fan so I’ll need to see if I can buy it over here 🙂

I do remembver many of the old ones, mothra of course and a big spider but I can’t remember its name and that three headed dragon is familiar as well. The old movies are so bad that I can’t but love them 🙂 🙂

Warm with high humidity yesterday but cooler and rainy today and I don’t mind at all 🙂

    Have a great day!

    Christer.

      Hi Christer,
I couldn’t believe the number of Godzilla movies and all the creatures and robots he faces. I have seen maybe 2 of them, mostly older films. I also remember Mothra and Rodan and there are more I have forgotten.

      Nice day all day today.
