“Let me, O let me bathe my soul in colours; let me swallow the sunset and drink the rainbow.”

Today is cloudy and warm, in the 60’s already. The rain will be here tomorrow and the next day. I don’t care so much. I have no plans to go out. There is quite enough to keep me busy here. As always, there is wash. I need to lug it down from upstairs so it can sit in the hall a day or two or even more until I feel guilty enough to wash it. There are well established steps to follow in the battle against laundry. I have just started.

Some words need to be on hiatus. I watch a YouTube video today, and the word amazing was used to describe everything. Some things were A-mazing while others were a-MAZ-ing. Rad was also thrown about a few times. I thought I was in a time warp.

Okay, time warp brought to mind The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The Cape Cinema used to play it at midnight on Saturday nights. I saw it many times. I love the scene when Dr Frank-N-Furter is coming down the elevator and all you can see are his heels. I can sing along with all the songs, and I can do the Time Warp with a jump to the left and a jump to the right. I also saw the play and I have the vinyl. “Lips. Lips”

When my favorite movies are on TV, I usually watch no matter how many times I’ve seen them. A single scene is sometimes enough for me to identify the movie. I can even speak along with the dialogue of some of them. There are days when I need to watch my favorite movies. I’m happy to know what’s coming. It’s comforting.

I remember the first time I saw The Wizard of Oz. It was actually at a Saturday matinee. I remember the awe and amazement when the movie turned to color, when Dorothy landed over the rainbow.

When I first moved into my house, all the walls were white. They stayed white for a long time. When it was the year for another repainting, I went wild. Every room got colored walls except the den, but that’s a different story. The living room is red, a bit dramatic but it works. The dining room is nutmeg, the kitchen green and the hall blue. The bathroom downstairs is lavender. Upstairs, rooms are blue or yellow. I live in colored rooms now.

    Hi Kat,

Today there are a few clouds around with a high predicted for only 88°. Some folks might see 90° or even a little hotter. A cold front is coming tonight bringing with it a slight chance of some more much needed rain.

I never saw, “The Rocky Horror Pocture Show”, and I can’t remember why, but I agree about rewatching old movies. My spouse doesn’t like watching something again so my old movie viewing is somewhat restricted. 🙁

Most of the rooms in our house are painted some shade of tan with white trim. My wife wants to paint our bedroom in all white. I’m not stuck on any color, but I hate painting because I hate the smell of drying paint. Having painters in the house and having them move the furniture also drives me a little crazy. I hope her comment about the color won’t start her on a painting excursion. I believe that one only has to paint the rooms once in your lifetime. My wife also likes to rearrange the furniture. 🙁

      Hi Bob,
90 ˚ now doesn’t forbade well fo the summer. Boston could get to 90˚ usually in August. We may never.

I have many, many movie stations. They are the best way to pass the time inside. Tubi and YouTube have old black and white science fiction movies. I did watch a new movie, Without Remote starring Michael B. Jordan on Amazon. He was a navy seal. The movie was violent, but I stayed watching until the end. I didn’t like the ending.

My rooms were painted a while back when I redid parts of the house: new roof, windows, siding, deck, tile floors, irrigation system, walkway, gardens and AC. I figure if I was going to be discombobulated I might as well go whole hog and add painting.

Rainy and windy here today, a day to stay indoors. I don’t mind really and Albin is quite content with staying at home as well 🙂

I do like The Rocky Horror Picture Show! That scen is buried in my mind as well 🙂 They don’t show it especially often over here and when they do only in the big cities.

I too can see my favorite movies over and over again, I never get tired og Fried Green Tomatoes and the book is just as good 🙂

    Have a great day!

Today was rainy. It stopped for a while then started again. It is chilly. I’m glad to be inside the house.

I don’t remember the last time I saw it, but it was a long time ago. It was always such fun to see Rocky Horror and take part in all of the theatrics. The music is great. Tim Curry is totally unbelievable.

There are days when I want sound in the background while I read or work on the computer. That is when I most want a familiar movie. I can get engrossed in something on line and not watch, but when I look up and see the screen, I usually know exactly what’s going on.

      Enjoy your day!
