“Have you ever, looking up, seen a cloud like to a Centaur, a Part, or a Wolf, or a Bull?”

The day is not at all inviting. Clouds are still with us. During the night, it rained, but I didn’t hear it. The sides of the road are still wet. The air is damp. The high today will be 44˚.

I have a couple of pictures I need to hang. Yesterday I walked around carrying them and trying to find the perfect spot. It took a while, but I found the spot. I just need a couple of nails.

Yesterday I was busy. I emptied the litter boxes, watered plants, brought my laundry downstairs and put the bags and boxes for the dump run into the trunk. I baked potatoes. That doesn’t sound like much, but one sweet potato was so big it was the size of an infant’s head. I had to cut that potato into pieces, also big. A white potato too needed cutting. The smallest potatoes went as is. They will be perfect for home fries. I’m thinking dinner might be home fries, bacon and eggs. I do love dinner when it’s breakfast. Maybe, when eaten at night, that meal needs a neutral name like breakner or dinnfast. Okay, I admit that’s a bit much but give me points for creativity.

I couldn’t get to sleep last night so I watched television. I watched Kolchak: the Night Stalker, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. It felt as if I were in some strange time loop, a fun loop but nonetheless a strange one. By the time Land of the Giants came on on, it was 3 o’clock. The Time Tunnel was after that. I went to bed so I recorded both programs. Today I get to loll in front of the TV and watch favorite science fiction programs from way back. I have plenty of corn to pop. I also have a keen suspension of disbelief.

    Hi Kat,

Today was an upside down weather day. This morning the temperature was 72°, then about noon a cool front came through with a little rain, the thunderstorms missed us by going to the north. The temperature has been slowly dropping and we’re down to the upper 50s with partly sunny skies. More storms still in the forecast.

Today I watched a Hulu movie called, “United States verses Billie Holiday”. Very well done but very depressing. I was amazed at the length the FBI went to kill the song, “Strange Fruit”. There have only been three countries that have had a cast system. India, Nazi Germany and the United States. A very sad commentary on our country and it’s not yet completely in the past.

      Hi Bob,
That’s funny. If we get weather in the 50’s, we call it a spring like day. It did stay in the 40’s today but will get chilly tonight.

I saw that movie. I find it remarkable the song was recorded in 1939. It has the most horrific lyrics. I never realized how early protest songs were recorded. I know that many singers sang metaphors without people actually realizing the themes.

I called it upside down was that it was warmer in the morning and got cooler as the day progressed.

It’s still not illegal specifically to lynch people. Unfortunately, racism is alive as well as antisemitism, xenophobia and nationalism. Basically, Trumpism. Every Trumpster I know would never admit to being a racist, but they exhibit all the characteristics of implicit racism or hidden bias.

        I got it!!

We will have 50’s tomorrow then Tuesday it will be in the 20’s and the teens at night. Weather this time of year is crazy.

That is shameful, that lynching hasn’t been outlawed.

Unusually warm and nice over here, just above 50F. They say it will get chilly again for a couiple of days before it turns towards warmer again. I enjoy every day that isn’t filled with frost or snow 🙂

I’ve started with the sowings, so far tomatoes and tree tomatoes but later today I’ll start with some melon seeds and a pumpkiun variety too. I still haven’t made place for them as I had planned to do, I stillcan’t figure out how to stop the cats from destroying it all 🙂 :-9

    Have a great day!

      Hi Christer,
It rained again this afternoon, but it is the deep cold of tonight which scares me. I hope it won’t freeze. In the morning, I’ll have to make sure the back stairs are safe for Henry.

I know spring is coming when you start your seeds. I am surprised at melon seeds. I love pumpkin. It looks so neat growing in the garden.

I found the web site called Keeping cats from the Garden:
