Christmas, Baby Please Come Home: Darlene Love
The highlight and the last event of my Christmas Eves before bed was to watch The David Letterman Show. His last guest was always Darlene Love singing Christmas, Baby Please Come Home. This video, from 2014, is her last Christmas Eve performance as this was The David Letterman Show’s last Christmas. I’m suggesting full screen for this one.

“A Christmas Gift for You” from Phil Spector was in many ways his very best example of his wall of sound and heavily featured Darlene Love. It’s release on November 22 1963, could not have been worse timing and it just didn’t sell
In later years it accelerated in popularity and I bought my first copy in blue vinyl.
The sheer brilliance of Darlene Love shies in this wonderful clip from the Letterman show
Incredible Kat and happy Christmas

MDH,
I have that album, A Christmas Gift for You. I really liked that sound, probably still do. Darlene Love on Letterman was always a wonderful Christmas extravaganza. This is, though, the last, was the most amazing of all.
Merry Christmas, My Dear Hedley!
