They were a terrific duo. Maybe the wiseman saw Jupiter and Saturn close together as they are tonight. It only happens every 800 years or so. I don’t think I will be around for the next time. 🙂
All sorts of possibilities have been offered including this convergence though I read it was as impressive back then. Perhaps it was a comet or a supernova are also offered. There are others too but too obscure or convoluted to offer. I didn’t realize that magi didn’t really mean wise men but more accurately astrologers.
