I went looking to make sure I found the first recording. Obviously I didn’t. Not as good but not so bad either.
You got me scurrying for information. I decided to find out if this was a real name. It was, and here is the information I found:
Bruce Bruno originally hooked up with Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks in 1960 or 61, when he was recording on Roulette Records and Hawkins heard him. According to Bruno, Hawkins said, “Hey boy, how about coming with me and singing some of those ballads?”
Thanks for the info. I believe (don’t quote me), Robbie Robertson and the other members of The Band also connected with Ronnie Hawkins. They seem to have done a little better career-wise 🙂

I can’t help myself. I like to hunt fact and fiction.
When I look for information, I am always amazed at how many groups, bands, some musicians play for.
