“The most boring scenes are the scenes where a character is alone.”

The longer I’m stuck inside the house the worse my mood gets. I haven’t spent time with people in weeks. Poor Henry has to listen to me opine. He doesn’t seem to mind, but maybe it is because of the treats I give him afterwards. At least he looks at me when I talk to him. Nobody on TV ever does.

The sun is out. It is hot but not as hot as it has been. Even the humidity is bearable. There is a wonderful breeze, even a wind at times. I hope for some deck time today, but that depends on whether or not the idiot who lives behind me plays his music. It is always so loud it drives me back inside.

I keep watching the news channels. They don’t help my mood, but I do like seeing the rooms behind reporters on TV. One room, a kitchen, is a bit too monochromatic for me, but I love the still life on the island. There is a vase of sunflowers flanked by a pineapple and tomatoes. I have seen this room before. The tomatoes are new.

I washed my masks. They are wrinkled so I’ll iron them as I think one should not go in public with wrinkled masks. They are a fashion statement, and I am always one to be fashionable.

My house is cluttered. Boxes of new pillows for the deck furniture are in the dining room. A new rug for my bedroom is in the living room, in a giant roll too heavy for me to lug upstairs. I’m hoping to move the pillows outside. I hate clutter.

Henry is restless. He repeatedly goes up and down the stairs. He likes to nap on my bed. I can hear him jumping off just before he comes downstairs. Right now he is finishing his breakfast. I can hear him eating.

It is amazing to me how uninteresting I have become. I’m hard-pressed to chitchat. Talking about doing laundry or going to the dump just won’t hold an audience, even Henry gets bored with me.

    Hi Kat,

Today I’m taking a rest from unpacking boxes and I took my first swim in my pool. I had resisted owning a house with a pool when looking at previous houses. Today I discovered why so many pther people have them right outside the back door. My spouse talked me into it and I’m becoming convinced she was right. The sun is out and it’s a balmy 93°. I lathered myself up with sunscreen before taking the plunge and my family enjoyed making fun of my appearance in a swim suit and gimme cap. This is also the first two story house I’ve owned and I’m quickly learning to plan ahead when going upstairs or downstairs to carry whatever I need to reduce the number of trips. 🙂

I used to spend every Sunday morning watching CBS Sunday Morning followed by the various news shows. Since the pandemic I’m not watching any of the news shows because the stories just increases my blood pressure. It’s bad enough that I read some of the stories on the internet and then get upset by how Trump is ruining our democracy and the country. Hopefully, the experiment of having a sleazy, narcissistic, businessman turned reality TV host as a president is almost over. I can’t believe that his supporters ignore the facts and that everyone who worked for him in his administration has written that he’s either a moron, or a child and that he doesn’t have a clue about governing or international relations.

      Hi Bob,
I am so glad you are already enjoying your house and pool. All it took was a pandemic. My bedroom is upstairs so I have learned to plan ahead though I sometimes still forget and have to go back up.

It is still 77˚. It won’t get much cooler tonight. I had hoped I could turn my AC off, but I’ll leave it going. It is so much more comfortable. Tomorrow won’t be much better with a high of 88˚ predicted.

I yell at the TV, especially Trump. It is my way to get rid of tension. Nothing much is on TV during the daytime so I mostly watch MSNBC. It still appalls me when the reporter talks to people on the street who support Trump. I can’t understand it. Have they not been listening? Have they not seen what is happening? I think there are far more stupid people than I thought. You’re right. He has no idea how to govern.

Unfortunately, we are now so divided everyone is committed too one tribe or the other. Trying to convince a Trumpster by using logic or facts is like trying to convince someone to change their religion because it’s wrong. It just doesn’t work.

I reread my comment and made an error. It should have read I can’t understand it. They’ll stick him regardless. Sad, sad people.

Long train-bike-train trip today, I just love to be outside whenever possible. One of the destinations was our so-called UFO and I had to think of your old B-movies. It’s an old coal pit frame and the construction on top was designed by Luigi Colani. It looks funny especially from afar.
(German wikipedia but only the photos are interesting anyway.)

Yup, that could well be a UFO. In Men in Black The World Expo Observatory Towers were actually interstellar spacecrafts hiding in plain sight and once piloted by a group alien refugees. They kind of look like your towers.

      I love trains.
