“Whenever I was upset by something in the papers, Jack always told me to be more tolerant, like a horse flicking away flies in the summer.”
Today’s weather is already getting hot and humid. The sun comes and goes. It was dark enough earlier that I had to turn on the table lamp in the den to read the papers. It will get hot today, to the low 80’s, but the occasional breeze, strong enough to blow the leaves and sway the branches, will make the day feel cooler. That makes the deck a perfect destination this afternoon. Besides, I still need to put the deck covers away. They were still wet yesterday so I emptied the water and spread them out in the sun. They dried.
A cat throwing up woke me this morning. Alexa told me it was just after 7. It was Gwen as Jack was sleeping under my bureau. I could see his white paw. Cats throwing up is no big deal. I went back to sleep. When I woke up for good, I cleaned the guest room floor. It was a hair ball moment. I do use anti-hair ball cream but obviously not enough. They are two huge, furry cats.
I don’t know what I want to do today. Sheets and such are in front of the cellar door, and the laundry basket in my bedroom is just about full. I have a hankering to go out even if just for a ride, but I could do the dump. I have adhered the new sticker to my windshield, my back seat is filled with boxes, the trunk already has a trash bag, and one more is in the kitchen ready to go to the trunk (Insert sigh here!).
I have been watching the news channels. Mostly I block out the voices and check the wardrobes of the reporters and the rooms of the peripheral experts who are still home and reporting from there. I noticed two reporters were wearing the same print dress but in different colors. I couldn’t figure out the design of the print. It looked like bees or sunglasses or, my most farfetched guess, Christmas trees. With my attention diverted, I have no idea what either reporter reported (yup, I did this on purpose).
Looks like the sun and the breeze are going to be hanging around enticing me to join them.

I took the day off and spent the most productive morning with my granddaughter. At 6 weeks old she follows the normal pattern of party, eat, sleep and repeat. However she was in very good humor and allowed me to hold her and take numerous photos.
It is also a time to reflect on the arrival of the next generation of MDHs, and the wonder of continuance
I was tempted to play some Lenny but she is more Disney centric

Didn’t Lenny do Disney? No? Are you sure? Well, he should have!
The wonder of her birth!
Already, your granddaughter knows how to wrap you around her tiny fingers. Good for both of you!

Hi Kat I’m sitting here at work awaiting the thunderstorm to pass so I don’t get soaked going to my car.
Our idiot Republican governor, Greg Abbott, decided today to require masks and limited the number of people in groups to no more than 10 in an attempt to get the spike in Covid cases down in Texas. Abbott and the other Republican Governors who opened up the economy in May are paying the price now.
The Republican Party is reading the poll numbers and are beginning to realize that Trump the chump was wrong about this pandemic, as well as everything else he’s done, and the public is beginning to realize that it’s not just Trump but Republicans at every level who are to blame. They are worried that the rise in cases that was predicted by Dr, Anthony Fauci is coming true and they are going to take the blame for Trump’s failure to act in January when the first cases appeared in the U.S. At Trump’s rally last week in Arizona he was still calling Covid-19 the Chinese flu. Worse is that his idiot followers believe him.
I really don’t care how we dump Trump as long as he becomes a one term President. He fears this more than anything because one term Presidents are considered failures.

Hi Bob,
I love thunderstorms. It is great to see you at work waiting for the storm to end.
Your governor is filling the airwaves. MSBC and CNN show the clip of him now requiring masks. Yup, it does seem to be the Republican governors who opened too early now have to backtrack. New England is holding its own.
People are afraid, and more people every day come to the realization that this virus is no hoax. It is a killer.
Trump is congratulating himself on the rising number of jobs this last month. He doesn’t take into account many of them are workers returning to their jobs, not to new jobs. People are still calling for the firing of the pandemic task force. Trump always needs somebody to throw under the bus.
