This picture reminds me of Lucy and Ethel working on the candy production line in an I Love Lucy TV episode. In those days the TV network standards board wouldn’t let the writers refer to Lucy’s condition as pregnant. You couldn’t even use the word in reference to a pregnant pause.

That episode was hysterical and right up there with the wine pressing.
I think maybe the word expecting was used instead. I remember when I ways a kid women were always expecting. I don’t think most people used the word pregnant.

The name of the episode was “Lucy Is Enceinte”.
