“Never complete. Never whole. White skin and an African soul.”

Today is cloudy but warm. I’m watching the Patriot’s duck boat parade. The crowd is immense. The team is loving it. The noise meter is off the charts. Even Bill Belichick is smiling and waving.

My muse is elsewhere, maybe in Boston at the parade or maybe at the beach walking on the sand closest to the water. The sun would have been a nice addition, but I’m happy with the warmth of a still day.

Near my front door is a basket filled with hats, gloves, scarfs and mittens. My outside shoes are underneath the coat rack. On the rack are vests and Henry’s new coat. It is my winter corner.

My house has Africa in just about every room, mostly colorful Bolga baskets made in Bolgatanga, my other home town. I have wooden figures, metal gold weights, watercolors, woven fabrics, a couple of table runners and a tablecloth, also from Bolga. Upstairs I have dresses and shirts all made from Ghanaian fabrics. They mean the world to me.

I have two years to save enough for what will probably be my last trip to Ghana. It will be my anniversary, fifty years since Peace Corps service. I need to save at least $5000, a sum which seems so very large right now, but I am determined to get there, and when I am so determined, nothing stands in my way.

    Hi Kat,
Well, the last couple of days African temperatures have visited North Texas. Yesterday we hit 81 and today 75. Unfortunately, President forked tongue will go before Congress and spew his racist and xenophobic fantasies of hoards of brown people invading our southern border. He will probably spin his web of fear by spreading the lies of tons of illegal drugs and thousands of woman sex slaves being smuggled into the US. The only thing between anarchy and western Caucasian civilization in his mind is a fifty foot, 2,000 mile concrete wall. I’m not sure I will waste my time listening to or watching his new reality TV show, “The apprentice president”.:-)

Tomorrow should also be a warm and humid day. Of course global warming is a hoax perpetuated by the Chinese according to 45. He has promised that coal will make a comeback to provide good jobs Appalachia along with black loung disease. 🙁

By morning Fox and friends will have spun his lies into semi-truths and will declare that any other interpretation is fake news.

      Hi Bob,
I am not watching the speech. I just didn’t want to do political tonight. Tomorrow’s paper will have all the information I need. I have had enough.

Only clean coal will make a comeback.

The cold is coming back but not as cold as it was last week. It will be in the 30’s. I’m fine with the cold just as long as it doesn’t mean snow later on.

I’m looking forward to the analysis of his speech.
