JLH had a significant Detroit connection having migrated to work on the line (Ford I think but don’t hold me to that). He played at the Apex Bar, a regular haunt for him. It’s long since been closed but still stands.
Mrs MDH gave me “King of the Boogie” at Christmas and I am yet to work through the 5 discs, due to other distractions. It adds very nicely to other discs and compilations I have and who doesn’t love “Big Legs,Tight Skirt” ?

My Dear Hedley,
I know little of his background, but now I know more. I find it so interesting that he worked on the line, not totally with his music.
That was a great gift. Mrs. MDH knows you so very well!!
