“I’d love to get pajamas. Good, nice and warm flannel ones.”
Today is bright and sunny. It is around 40˚. I have to go to the dump, to the post office and to Rings, a sort of grocery store. Last night I crossed off one item from my Christmas to do list. I wrote out my Christmas cards. I’m hoping that will jump start me to get going on the rest of the list.
When I went to get the newspaper, I noticed my car windows were still icy. Along the side of the road was a bit more ice. I took my time. Ice and I have a contentious relationship. Tonight will get down to the low 20’s.
Many of the Christmas movies I watch are obviously filmed in warm places. Artificial snow is banked beside the houses. You never see the breath of people when they are outside, but the movie I’m watching, The Christmas Angel, is unique. The snow is real. You can hear the crunch when people walk-on it. People’s breath can be seen. Gideon is the angel. He once was a cowboy and is dressed accordingly. He sits in trees and plays the harmonica. The plot hinges on one main character believing again in Christmas. It’s a good movie with magic about it.
I live in flannel. My outside shirts and my inside cozy pants are flannel. I have flannel sheets for when it really gets cold. Until then, I have a warm dog nestled beside me. I have a winter jacket but can’t remember the last time I wore it.
Yesterday I got the last of my packages. They were on the front step with a dog biscuit on the top of the smaller box.
Henry comes all the way into the kitchen now. He knows where the dog biscuits are and walks there to stand right beside the bag where he patiently waits for his treat. He hasn’t yet come all the way into the bathroom. He stands on the threshold and wags his tail.
It’s time to get out and about!

Today is also Pearl Harbor day. A date that will live in infamy according to FDR. One of my bucket list items is to visit the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor. One of my dad’s friends was killed on the Arizona on December 7, 1941.
So far today the weather prognosticators were wrong and it’s not raining continuously here. This afternoon and evening should be very wet and cold, but remain above freezing.

My friend has been to the USS Arizona. She said it was the most remarkably solemn place she has ever visited. I’d also like to visit it, but you have a personal connection of sorts.
It wasn’t a bad day here all and all. I did four errands, and even the deck wasn’t all that cold.

Hi Kat,
Whenever I consider good, nice and warm, flannel pajamas, I mentally edit “pajamas” to “pyjamas” as seen in classic English murder mysteries. Same for silk pyjamas. My jams are usually miscellaneous cotton pieces or sweat pants and tee shirts. Sheets are always percale cotton of a higher thread count. I don’t like flannel because it’s grabby. I like to be able to slide around easily without having to tug at clothes or sheets because they’re impeded by friction. I have two dogs to supply extra warmth so I don’t need the flannel.
There was a weather notice on my phone earlier that said a snow shower would begin at around 11:37AM. Around 11:37? 🙂 Anyway, it never happened which is fine by me. I don’t want any snow. My snow plow guy decided to get out of the business but he didn’t tell any of his customers. I’m looking for a new one. Few of them answer phones or return calls.
Today is mostly sunny, except for that nonexistent snow shower. There are puffy white clouds sailing overhead. It looks lovely outside bit it’s a bit chilly.

I only use the flannel sheets on the coldest of nights as they are sometimes too warm for me. I wear t-shirts with my winter flannel pants. In the summer, I switch to cotton pants and t-shirts. I can’t remember the last time I had real pajamas.
I like your spelling switch. It raises simple pajamas to a higher plane. I can also see pyjamas on Catherine Hepburn.
It was cold but bearably cold today even at the dump. I felt accomplished in doing all my errands and even rewarded myself with some cookies from the bakery.
No snow! I don’t want any. Good luck in finding a new snow plow guy.

Yes! Catharine Hepburn and pyjamas are a definite match. I have a pair of silk lounging slacks, I guess they would be called. Anyway, I bought them because of Catherine Hepburn. No way I look like her when I’m wearing them being that I am a round and short person. But I can envision that I might convey the impression that, in an alternate universe, I could. 😀

So tomorrow brings a game in Gelsenkirchen between Schalke and Dortmund. With Bochum sitting right between the two, I think that your support shall go to Dortmund, but it will be quite a match

bad timing again, I can’t follow the match but will be stuck in public transport traffic twice. Since our VfL Bochum is 2nd league the town is split up between Schalke and Dortmund as 2nd soccer love. (Forget these Bavarians.) As an old blue-white VfL Bochum fan I can’t wear BVB-black-yellow but: Go BVB Dortmund!
PS: I’m just listening to an Iggy concert on public radio 🙂

Yesterday it was foggy and mostly chilly but with no wind rather nice anyway, today they say will be warmish but with strong winds so I guess it won’t be nice at all. I am happy as long as it doesn’t snow though so I’m not complaining too much 🙂 🙂
They still haven’t shown a single Christmas movie on any of the channels I can see and I think it won’t happen until it’s one week left before Christmas is here. Not even children’s tv programs are about Christmas yet and I’ve always thought it odd that it is like this here. Too bad they don’t think like that when it comes to commercials 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is cold, but no snow is predicted here though some states are getting socked with rain and snow. The states which had a drought now have floods. The weather is crazy.
Christmas movies are everywhere on TV. Today the old ones were on like White Christmas and Christmas in Connecticut. Krampus, a sort of horror Christmas movie, is on tonight. I’ve seen it before, but I think I’ll watch it again.
