“Between the optimist and the pessimist, the difference is droll. The optimist sees the doughnut; the pessimist the hole!”

The baseball game ended earlier than usual, but when the Red Sox win, I watch the after game analysis on NESN. That program just ended. The Sox have won the first 2 games of the World Series, both at home, but now they head to LA where it was close to 90˚ yesterday. At game time tonight, it was 48˚. Many of the Dodgers were wearing face warmers. What babies!

It rained on and off all day today. Sometimes it was heavy rain. I’m forgetting how the sun looks and how it feels on my arms and face. The prediction is for rain on Saturday. I’ll stay home and hunker down.

Henry barks and that starts the zombie. Henry barks again at the sound and the zombie moans. It is a vicious circle.

When I was a kid, the car I was in was stopped by a police officer because I had barked out the window. My brother had set me up. The officer had shot a dog, but I didn’t know that. He stopped the car and wanted to know who barked. I told him. I got a huge lecture about respecting police. I never barked out the window again. I had repented.

When I visited my parents, my father went out early every Sunday morning to get donuts. He never remembered my favorite donut, butternut; instead, he used to buy old-fashioned donuts better know as plain as well as glazed and jelly donuts. His favorite was the plain. He always slathered it with butter.

I like coconut, the way it tastes and the way it smells. Last week when I was shopping in Hyannis, I bought a Bounty candy bar, not something I usually find. It is coconut covered in milk chocolate and it comes in two pieces. After I had eaten it, I was sorry I’d only bought one bar.

I like figs and dates. I hate olives. I also hate just about any sort of bean. The exception is green beans, but I don’t think of them as beans. I find kidney beans the most disgusting.

    Congratulations Sox!

Some blood on the tracks for Halloween?
Bob Dylan’s ‘More Blood, More Tracks: The Bootleg Series Vol. 14’ is on NPR First Listen:
At the moment I can’t read the whole story and can’t listen since npr changed the website but I’ll certainly take a closer look tonight and hope for the best.

      Great post Birgit

I am waiting anxiously for the Super Deluxe all 71 track version of More Blood, More Tracks to show up a week from tomorrow. As usual I have resisted listening on line as I like to work my way through the bootleg series at my own pace.

More Blood More Tracks has been sitting on the shelves for a couple of years while Dylan was pressured to roll out copyright sensitive material. Last year was the Born Again Music (Trouble No More) which was brilliant and I am expecting the same from this.

Its that time of year – amazon is delivering new music, Tottenham are failing in the Champions League and a heavy frost starts each morning.

      Salutations to the Bochum Belle

Hedley, musically I’m not really interested in Born Again Music (though When He Returns (Take 2) was a gem in my opinion) but I hope to listen to More Blood. I’ll check the library or may buy it when it costs less. Please tell us what you think about the new set.

Sorry for Tottenham. Dortmund 4:0 Atletico Madrid yesterday 🙂

        My Dear Hedley,
I’m sorry about Tottenham. I’m also sorry about the frost. We have yet to have one here on the cape as we are always a bit warmer than off cape.

I know I mentioned it I’d know as this is get ready for Christmas time so no money spent on me, no new music.

      Thanks, Birgit

I’ll also take a closer look tonight. I’m glad for the link.

Today is travel day so the Sox are on their way to LA and will play tomorrow night. If necessary, three games are scheduled to be played in LA.

    Go Sox!

Sunny and warmish here and today for once the clouds did avoid the last of the sunshine so I too got a chance to enjoy it 🙂 We’ll have a few days of cold weather now but already next week it’ll get a bit warmer again.

I do like the donuts filled with either apple sauce or vanilla cream, most other donuts goes down as well but the ones glazed with chocolate over here are just bitter and rather yucky.

I do like figs, dates even more but can’t stand any kind of olives! I do like beans a lot though even if my stomach tends to protest rather wildly if I eat them 🙂 🙂

    Have a great day!

It was really cold here today. I went out to fill the bird feeders and got quite cold. I was glad to finish and get back inside the warm house.

Boston cream donuts are also favorites of mine. There is a vanilla cream inside and tasty chocolate on top. There are apple donuts with cinnamon on top. I think you’d like it.

      I find olives nasty tasting.

      Have a great day!!

Great game last night. But the series isn’t over till’ the fat lady sings. 🙂

When it comes to donuts it’s glazed first and jelly filled ones second. Why would your dad ruin a plain cake donut with butter? 🙁 Dunking the donut into coffee is what those donuts were designed.

Baked beans are ok. Refried pinto or black beans just doesn’t appeal to me at all because of the texture. Went out for barbecue ribs and I skipped the barbecue beans. Navy, great northern white, lima or whatever beans are not something I like.

Today started out cloudy but the sun came out with cool temperatures in the upper 60s. The high temperatures will return back Saturday with highs in the 80s.

Both have been great games. The two teams are fairly evenly matched. Price was great last night as was the bullpen.

I think he put butter on as those donuts can be a bit dry. I find them boring to eat. I like glazed too, but I prefer lemon over jelly.

I think baked beans were the first beans I tasted so they were the first beans I hated. I agree about the texture of refried beans, but they are also disgusting looking.

It stayed cold all day even though there was sun.
