Odo Bra: Eric Agyeman

This and the two following songs are in the genre called highlife. I heard this music in the markets and lorry parks blasted from radios the whole time I was in Ghana. Listening now brings me right back.

African day today, first Nigeria won against Iceland, then KTCC and later the concerts by Arsene Duevi (Togo/Italy) and Orlando Julius & The Heliocentrics (Nigeria/London) I partly saw at the festival last weekend will be on the radio. I’m looking forward to hear the whole Arsene Duevi concert.
Thanks also for the Peace Corps videos and of course your vivid stories, before reading KTCC I hardly knew anything about the Peace Corps.

      Good for Nigeria!

I can’t think of any radio station here which plays concerts, especially by Africans. It is, I think, because few people here know any African artists. We do have Graceland which gives us Simon’s collaborations with South African singers like Ladysmith Black Mambazo ( whom I have seen!).

I love writing about my Peace Corps experience. It was the defining experience in my life, and it has influenced so many of my choices since.

Peace Corps is now in Europe but mostly Eastern Europe. That would seem to me to be a pretty easy post in regard to things like electricity and water.
